Who was Dr. Kamal Ranadive? Death Cause: Google Doodle Tributes The Biologist On 104th Birth Anniversary

Dr. Kamal Ranadive’s cause of death has not been made public. She took her last breath at the age of 83.

Born to parents Dinesh Dattatreya Samarth and Shantabai Dinkar Samarth, she had a doctorate in Cytology. Having completed her Masters’ from Agriculture College at Pune, she studied cytogenetics of Annonaceae as her major.

Prior to joining Agriculture College, she was a student at Fergusson College. Her main subjects during her undergraduate studies were Botany and Zoology. As a matter of fact, she graduated with a distinction and obtained her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree.

Ranadive was an inspiration to many women as she advocated for women in STEM. To empower and motivate the women working in the science field, she established Indian Women Scientists’ Association (IWSA).
